Ringworms In Humans

Ringworms In Humans

Ringworm in humans, also known as dermatophytosis, is one of the most common superficial fungal infections out there. However, unlike popular belief, not all ringworm infections give perfectly circular marks on your skin; nor are the infections created by worms, as the name would imply. Instead, ringworm in humans come in many different forms and the infections come from fungus.

I have been told that ringworm is one of those things that is so contageous that if you see it on someone, you avoid touching them and stay away from them as much as possible.

I am myself interested in martial arts, specially Judo, and worry myself about contracting the infection when fighting.  Very prevalent in wrestling and MMA ringworm can cause irritation and pain.
